Not to the TC per say but I have been having some steering wheel play and the only thing in the front end that was still original was the steering box. So at 130,000 miles we ordered a new one and had it installed. I got it from these guys http://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/re-manufacturing Looking at the cramped space where it is located I am so glad I opted not to DYI. The shop mgr said he could hear the mechanic cursing my truck during the removal and install. Haven't driven it with the TC
on yet but unloaded it was night and day, so much better

Buzzcut, I did the exact same on my F350. I've been super impressed with the Red head steering gear. One other thing. Look at your front ball joins. I replaced those at the same time as the steering gear and the improvement was just unbelievable. Cheers
Way ahead of you, Already did the upper and lower ball joints, new steering stabilzer and new tie rods & bushing, and sway bars. This was just the last piece. - NVR2L82AV8Explorer

More storage, no more crappy interior door latches and a much better bathroom layout.
Should have it in a couple weeks. - mbloofExplorerThe DW was wanting to get the vac out while I was wanting to take a nap. Easy solution - I retired to the TC and took a nap!

a lot of that is from the stuff they used to break free all the corroded/ rusted bolts that had been in place in salt air for 12 years. yeah he could have cleaned it up better but nothing he had ever done on my vehicles has ever failed to work really well.
by the book it was a 2.75 hr job. due to corrosion and tight spaces it took over 5. I still only paid the book rate.
Did he suggest replacing or installing an inline filter, I hope? It's easy enough to do yourself. Highly recommended to greatly prolong the box and related parts - Buzzcut1Nomad IIa lot of that is from the stuff they used to break free all the corroded/ rusted bolts that had been in place in salt air for 12 years. yeah he could have cleaned it up better but nothing he had ever done on my vehicles has ever failed to work really well.

Uncle bud....Nice work! I need to do that to my camper. Why in God's name don't the manufactures do that?
Because manufactures try to adhere to the UPC. The modified version wouldn't pass DWV code. Waste tee's aren't designed to be installed horizontal, on their side. It's an overly technical point, thus not a big deal. It's his camper. - joeshmoeExplorer III

There is absolutely no reason to get fluid everywhere like that. What a mess. A good mechanic would have caps and plugs ready to install before fluid gets all over your linkage and suspension. - bcbouyExplorerstill waiting for the new camper, but i had some supersprings installed on the ram yesterday.
- garryk6ExplorerTook my camper off to wash the truck and do some spring maintenance on the Avion. The camper looks lonely and the truck looks naked after having them married most of the winter...
