When these folks waded in I thought it was to sneak in a bathroom break..... but they stayed, and stayed , and stayed... fishing all the time.
Is there an advantage to fishing while standing in the water? The area they were fishing was easily within range of some casting from the shore. (They didn't appear to be fly fishing)
