Looks nice and warm down in Florida, currently rather cold and dry up here in Michigan :p.
M...
if you are in Michigan head down I-75... you'd pass within 14 miles of our house (About 45 minutes out of the Smokey Mtn Nat Park)
A lot of nice parks here
Norris Dam is only 3 miles off I-75... very nice, economical
We'll take you to dinner...

Thanks for the offer sleepy, I will have to take a raincheck till the next time I'm out east, the old trip fund is starting to get down to the end, so I'm kinda stuck on the route back along I-80 that is already planned.
I had hoped to go down and explore southern Illinois, visit some family in Memphis, and a few other things, but the gas fund is running out of belt loops to tighten up to and I got a phone call yesterday that sets a "Must be home by" date of the 15th of November for work related activities :), so they'll be on my return trip plan in a few years.
We had always hoped that you'd get to our part of Tennessee when you came east....
Do have a good trip home... we'll be watching for your trip report.

Thanks Sleepy :), I had wanted to before I left, as I planned to pass through Tennessee and then on to South Carolina to visit my God mother, but I wasn't able to raise the extra 1.5k needed to go the extra distance.
So, Tennessee and Kentucky are on my visit list for my next time east, which will be back along the I-80 corridor vs I-90, saving time and money for a big chunk of the drive.
This trip was my northern exploration. When all is said and done I'll have driven 9000 miles and through 15 states. The only one I missed was North Dakota in my northern expedition, which I'll save for detail explorations of northern Minnesota on a future trip :).
