You are correct...
I mentioned that the shroud was yellowed... and brittle. Yes it cracked... I was stuck with this one for the rest of Saturday and Sunday... (Stayed in place at the beach to keep from driving with the bad shroud)... I returned it on Monday to Camping World... they didn't bat an eye... went in the back and got another one. (They finally got rid of their last two)
This one was better than none... but not much.
