After leaving Charleston we visited an Adena Indian Burial Mound in South Charleston.
I'm standing at the base of the mound at the corner of 7th Ave and D street. On the opposite side of the mound is US-60, also refered to as the Midland Trail.
I worked for 12 years (1962-74)just across the highway from here FMC InorganicChemicalsIt is now a brown field... the plant was torn down years after I left... the earth is so polluted that the property can't be used for anything.
Janet grew up here and went to high school here...
Things have gone down hill like most towns and cities all around the country... we left WV 40 years ago.
