The above numbers have no use with TC as camper weight in +-100% go on rear axle.
So starting point should be reading RAWR and putting the axle on scales.
The rear GAWR is 7,000 lbs. Haven't been to the scales. Would I get it weighed empty to find my starting point?
Go to a truck stop that has CAT Scales so you can get separate weights for both of your truck axles.
Weigh it with the travel trailer you already own. You’ll do 3 weights:
1, with truck and camper with WDH hitch engaged
2, with truck and camper without the WDH bars
3, truck only
Use the “Weigh My Truck” app to make it easier - it saves you from stretching to reach a tall call button, hearing someone through the squawk box, and having to run inside for weight slips.
Take those numbers and plug it into
TowingPlanner.com.
It’ll give you useful data to figure out how much of a truck camper that you can add to the mix.
