I think you need to take negative comments in perspective.
I’ve run across countless tourists over the years that had absolutely no idea about the places (or weather) of where they were going. Being near the ocean and in the mountains just makes that worse.
I see people in the ‘wilderness’ wearing fancy shoes, inappropriate clothing, etc, etc, all the time.
Lots of people also just head out blindly, unlike your research, and think they’re going to go to some remote destination and find 4 lane freeways and services every few miles.
In June though you should be just fine.
