- ppineExplorer IIThe best route?
all of them. - Dick_BExplorerMountain Directory West would be a good resource for traveling in the west mountains; thus the title!
- PawPaw_n_GramExplorerLast year at the end of August we left west Glacier down US-2 through Kslispell then down US-93 to Missoula. Stayed at Jim & Mary’s RC Park. It deserved all the glowing reviews I’ve seen. Excellent place for a night or five.
Then took I-90 east past Butte to Cardwell / MT-359 to US-287 to West Yellowstone.
Don’t know about MT-41 from I-90 but the MT state roads I say were excellent.
Worst grade is going the mountain outsid Butte.
If you use Flying J/Pilot - the Flying J in Missoula (Town Pump) has one island that accepts the RV Plus Card and gives the gasoline discount. It is at the end of the diesel big truck lanes closest to the store building. The Town Pump/ Pilot in Butte does the same. The pump in the diesel truck lanes closest to the store. - South on US 93 to I-90, east to US 287. South on US 287 to West Yellowstone.
