Branson to Paducah KY

Planning a trip to Paducah KY with a stop at Branson on the way out. Two rigs travelling together, one a 38ft. 5er, the other a 34 ft. Class A.

Thanks in advance.
  • Well if you are on a bike 160 is a fun ride. So take 65 up to 60 east it is a great road now, you do NOT want to cross the Miss river on 60! Take I 57 NE get off on first exit past the Miss river & go south through Cairo then back on 60 across the Ohio river as it is ok. It is only a few miles out of your way & worth it if you like the mirrors on your rig. I take 62 in KY which is a slow 2 lane road.

Now on your trip you will go past 2 lambert's one at Ozark MO. & #2 Sikeston MO. I think Sikeston has better food. If you have never been lambert's is a must stop. If you stop at Ozark get there at 10:30 unless you want a 2 hr. wait as they get at least 10 busses a day going to Branson.

Sorry forgot at Wickliffe Ky we would take 286 to 62 still slow 2 lane road.
  • Most of 60 east from Springfield is 4 lane with very little traffic. The bridge crossing at Cairo is narrow but I've been across it when 18 wheelers were crossing, just have to watch your mirrors. If you want to avoid the bridge take I55 down to Caruthersville and use the I155 bridge into TN then go north up to Paducah. I think that ads about an hour to the trip but it's all good roads.

Should not rely on memory...should have said do not use 160 as 60 is a much better choice. There is a right turn on 76/main street on to Veteran that I could not make so had to make three left turns.

While 76 is shorter I would not use it.

Just looked at 76 on Google Earth and didn't see anything that appeared to be a hazard from Branson to 160. What makes that route a no go?
