Fuel Stops in New Brunswick
Planning a trip up to Prince Edward Island through Maine, to St. Stephen, to Charlottetown. My old standby Pilot/Flying J has no presence along the entire route. Any suggestions for fuel stops along...

Entering New Brunswick at St. Stephen.... there is a brand new Irving station right the ramp to Route 1 (main highway). There is an Irving "Big Stop" (truck stop with restaurant, showers, etc) just east of Saint John on Route 1, another one off the Route 2 ramp at Salisbury, and another where you turn off of Route 2 to take Rte 16 to PEI at Aulac, NB. These are major truck stops. In addition to these, most all communities will have gas stations capable of filling you up, some easier to get into than others.
Irving Oil is the largest fuel company in Atlantic Canada (huge refinery in Saint John). You'll also see Esso, Petro Canada, Shell and a few lesser-known brands.
BTW, there is an Irving on Rte 1 Maine right at the intersection (the eastern end) of Rte 9 from Bangor. Make sure you fuel up there unless you are planning to go into the town of Calais. There is new border crossing before you get to Calais that puts you onto divided highway bypassing St. Stephen. Or you can go through town and cross into St. Stephen. Either way, fill up before crossing the border; gasoline is taxed to the hilt up here. Today both gasoline and diesel are selling here at $0.989/litre (3.8l to 1 USG)
