Good RV camping in Western NC

Hi guys!
I would like to camp anywhere west of asheville, nc in NC Any suggestions on upscale sites? Any input would be appreciated. We found a nice one called Bear Creek but they were booked. Anything equivalent would be great!

Thanks!
  • I agree on Campfire Lodgings. The Premium sites have a beautiful view. We have stayed there many times.
  • There are two campground right next door to each other near Waynesville: Creekwood Farm and Pride. We have stayed several times at Creekwood Farm, but Pride looks good from the outside.

Many parks in the Maggie Valley.

We used to stay at Holly Cove at Whittier, NC near Cherokee, but they now only cater to longer term residents.

A former ORA is located across from Lake Toxaway - as nice as they get IMHO Think this is it.
This is a great area to spend some time in.

    BOL,
  • Campfire Lodgings gets great reviews. Read the reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com about the road up. You didn't say how far west. There is a new park in Cosby TN an hour west of Asheville, called Smoky Mountain Premier RV Resort that gets good reviews. New park, gravel pads, heavily treed not sure about cable TV. There is also Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandrige TN.
