- pauljExplorer IIThe highest point near the state border is a tunnel. Then the California side follows a major river, curvy but no significant grades. Just stay in your lane and give logging trucks and semis space. Closer to the coast you get into redwoods.
- bukhrnExplorer IIIWe are not that long, we have a 29' class C with toad on a dolly, but had absolutely no problems with it what so ever, maybe who ever said it was bad just can't drive in the first place. :R
- caysea7254ExplorerThanks everyone! We have watched videos on it and could not figure out why everyone said it was so difficult. Thanks for reassuring us. We appreciate it.
Steve & Tara - donkeydewExplorerseveral hundred rvs use it every day without a problem, even the ones complaining
about it seemed to have made it ok. the road is fine if you follow the speed limit - mike-uswestExplorer IIIt is not as bad as you must have heard. I have been taking it from Medford to Brookings with a truck camper and boat, 26' fifth wheel, and now a truck with a 15' boat on the top pulling a 30' travel trailer for nearly 50 years. If it worries you, just slow down. Enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Mike - Outside Crescent City the road narrows and has many curves. You should not have any problems as many big rigs travel the highway. It is the last I am thinking 10 miles before intersection with US 101.
