Looks for tips and tricks

I live in Southern Ontario (close to Buffalo NY border) and I am planning another trip. We are going to a wedding in June in Fredericton NB and planning to make a camping trip out of it. I am figuring its in the 14-15 hour drive range. So I would like to plan 2 nights on the way there, and 2 on the way back. I was thinking we might head out through the the US and stay in Canada on the way back to mix up the drive a little bit.
So how do you all find nice places to stay, along your way, without straying too far from your planned route since I don't want to add a lot of driving time? It is usually a slow painful process for me.

Any tips or tricks that you suavy veterans care to share?
  • Since you are a Good Sam member look at the home page.

    "Plan a trip"

    "Find a Campground"

    "Map Search"

Zoom (+/- bottom left corner) in on your route and it will show you campgrounds along your route.

    Enjoy the trip.

Google state and province campgrounds. You'll find state, provincial and private listings.
Pick up a KOA campground directory at your nearest KOA..ie there is one in Niagara Falls.
Join CAA. There is an excellent CAA office in Thorold
With CAA RV Plus membership you have towing insurance etc.
CAA/AAA have campground directories for all states and provinces. Also a great source of maps...I never totally rely on GPS!
CAA will supply regional ie NE States, individual state and city maps.

Old Quebec city is not to be missed! Stay on the south shore ie KOA and take the ferry from LEVIS and visit OLD Quebec on foot. Do not attempt to drive in the Old City!

I appreciate the tips .. and I will look into checking out QC.

  • When we want to stop we get off where the sign says "camping this exit" and we follow the sign if it's not to many miles. Almost always if the place is in the middle of nowhere and near the interstate it has pull thru and is good for the just passing thru crowd.
