Newbies Salt lake to phoenix

Total RV newbies here. Looking for your location and camp ground tips between Salt Lake City and Phoenix.

Parameters:
- Repositioning (borrowing) friend's class C
- Kids ages: 5,7,9
- 6 days
- Late march

We are thinking Zion (warmer than Bryce ), Grand Canyon ( maybe North rim?) and last night in Sedona. Any tips on great campgrounds for families with young kids or other must-sees on a family trip?

I found a few threads covering this, but especially interested if anyone has gone during this time of year.

Thanks in advance.
  • For only 6 days in March we would recommend the first stop at Zion at Watchman campground in the park, and the second at Grand Canyon - south rim at Trailer Village RV in the park. If you find you can work in the Sedona area, Dead Horse Ranch State Park in nearby Cottonwood is very nice. It'll be a fast trip..have fun and keep an eye on the weather!
  • The facilities in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon don't open until May 15th each year. The road may or may not be open depending on weather.
  • Circle of Pines KOA Williams Arizona, lovely campground large and clean, good access to Sedona, Grand Canyon South Rim, and lots of other fun places search Bearazona. Salt Lake City KOA was very nice, if you can take a day trip to Antelope Island to see the Buffalo. Circus Circus RV Park in Las Vegas, indoor amusement park, and the daily circus on property. If you do Las Vegas take the kids to the Atomic Museum on the grounds of UNLV. Fantastic display of old time atomic research and a new display on Area 51. A long time ago we stayed at Rubies Campground at Bryce, rustic but nice location, it's on my list of places to return to with the grandkids.
  • Welcome! When is this trip? Sounds like pretty soon? North Rim is higher than South Rim at the Grand Canyon, and won't even be open until later in the spring, at least if they've had snowfall. Good luck with the trip!
