- loggenrockExplorerGary - awesome link! Thank you! Just clicked on it - spent the last 10 minutes watching 3 bear casually fish. Likely much less intrusive to their daily activities, too. ST
- PipemanExplorerHmmmm, when we go dry camping in Michigan, we look for graffes, rhinopotamases, elephantitis and other exoctic animules that a few 151 proof Lambs Dark Navy Rum bring on. Don't even have to get out of the anti gravity chairs, just lean way back, stretch out arms, mix a drink without looking and voila instant hypopotumisses.......:)

I can't let this go....consider the chain fully yanked. :)
First, I'll admit to not understanding the fascination with bears; they're cool and all, but so are moose, caribou, and (even more so) Dall Sheep. Second, having now spent far too much time in Ewe-stun, anyone that thinks there's traffic in Alaska needs to come to the Bayou City for a visit..I'd suggest 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm on a Friday, visit either I-10 or US 59.
Finally, one should just live in AK....there's been more than one occasion, usually late in the fall, when I've been sipping a martini (Vodka, Grey Goose, thank you) on the cabin deck and watched bears and moose wander by. Even had the incredible privilege to see wolves chase down a momma moose and calf in front of the cabin...Momma made it, calf didn't.
Yes there are fires and smoke, but that's part of the price one pays for living in AK.

Actually the fires were bad up North. Bugs are way less than expected. About 80 cents US to $1 Canadian. Fuel (diesel) in Alaska about $3.25 in Anchorage. Weather has been good. Cruise ship towns are crazy expensive. Seen all kinds of wildlife. Whales, moose, bears, caribou, etc. Great scenery, glaciers, even visited Santa. Sorry to disappoint ya.
Hope you get a good nights sleep :) - garyhauptExplorer

They have beer in Alaska. Alaska White...I've grown quite fond of it.
I think your future is not in the Alaskan tourism industry. :)
I was just yankin a chain....I live up north. Not quite in Alaska but 3 hrs from Hyder. I get this thing going in my fingers...when people get all heated up about something I have posted. I get some kind of weird sense of `gothcha` when they get even more fired up. Helps me sleep at night.
Gary Haupt - Winnebago_BobExplorerThanks for this..
