Oregon 101 Fort Stevens to Gold Beach

Newport is about half way. Beverly Beach State Park, South Beach State Park. Or go on to Florence to Honeyman State Park, Dry camping allowed at the Three Rivers Casino, you need to register and make about a $40 donation at the slots/tables to get a "Free" three day stay. Food is fairly good in the bar, never tried the buffet. Both towns have a nice Old Town to fool around in.

X3, I like your idea of how to RV! Traveling and enjoying the trip is the goal, not the time or destination!!

Beverly Beach SP, South Beach SP are just north and south of Newport.

For an awesome stopover, if you can get in, take a look at Sea & Sand RV Park - in Depoe Bay. They have some really nice sites pretty much on the water - they're actually several feet above the water, but you get an awesome view if you can get in.

All good points, any suggestions on a mid-way over nighter?

I've done it several times pulling 29ft. It is an easy, interesting drive. You could do it in a day if you'r crazy. A week or so if you'r not.

I'm a 66 year old Oregon native and I'd take 3-4 days to do it.
Lots to see and eat along the way.

It's one of the all time great RV routes-destinations and not to be rushed. We have wandered up and down it many times. It can be curvy, narrow, and trafficy.

Also, in the summer, there are many bicyclists taking the same route which can slow things down.

Lots of quaint small beach and fishing port towns, lighthouses and breath taking coastal vistas, excellent one of a kind restaurants and great campgrounds .

Have a good trip - don't rush it. (You probably won't be able to anyway.)
