I really enjoyed Crater Lake (Prospect Park) RV Park when we went there a few months ago for 4 nights.. I saw the owner, but never spoke with him.. I had only dealt with the camp hosts and the owner's wife. Very nice place. Free continental breakfast on the weekends and live music and BBQ (hotdogs/hamburgers) around the central camp fire on Sat nights. Lots of hiking and waterfalls near by. Just down the street, there is a nice general store and gas station.

Level asphalt sites. Make sure you use some sort of pad under your stabilizer jacks. They will bill you $200 if you dimple it. Check your site beforehand. Only smoke in your campsite. Don't leave a cigarrette but anywhere (campsite or otherwise) or you will be kicked out. michael8rc was right on the draconian rules, and from the reviews, I'm pretty sure that I had a good time because I didn't deal with the owner, as michael8rc did.

My only issue is that there is no real cell phone service. There is a cell antenna at the office that you have to huddle around (like real close) with others, and wait for a few minutes for it to connect, then you get to make calls with a bad connection. WiFi was spotty (tech guy was out of town)

The bathrooms/showers were strange (permanently mounted trailers), but were very clean.

All the sites were located in a circle around a central campfire which can be accessed by the campsites in the inner circle. Since there is only one other entrance to the central campfire (not obvious), often people in the outer circle go through your campsite to get to it.

Fire pit is extra ($12) and comes with a bundle of wood large enough for 2 fires. Additional bundles is $10.50.

Thanks to all who have offered help. Once more, I have found that reading these forums will sometimes bring better results than looking at CG reviews elsewhere.

We just stayed at Collier Memorial State Park on US97 near Chiloquin, OR. It was very convenient to the south entrance of Crater Lake NP. Many of the sites are FHU 50 amps.

I am joining the chorus for Diamond Lake RV Park. We stayed there in July for a visit to Crater Lake and I would go right back there if we ever go back to Crater Lake area.

We were happy here. Not many options in the area.

Thanks for this question. I am considering spending some time in the area next year and was curious of options.

I don't think having to sign a form saying you understand park rules is that outside of the ordinary. Can you give a couple of examples of things you found unreasonable?

For me, if I can park, level and setup my rig, hookup to elec/water/sewer, deploy my rooftop dishes, have a decent place to park my toad, and be able to come and go at will, I am pretty much good to go.

But I do often find it curious how many rv park reviews talk about how rude and/or mean the owners/managers/hosts are. Guess they don't realize they are part of the "hospitality" industry!
