- mockturtleExplorer IIEither way, I feel sorry for you. :(
- LeeblevExplorerI go to Stanford ab out once a month. I take 80 to 880 to the Dumbarton. I also take 24 through the tunnel and then S. on 13 to 580 to 238 to 880 to the Dumbarton, depending on how much traffic is on 80.
Now, if you are coming down 80, you can take 680 to Milpitas and take the 237 across to 101 and jog North to Palo Alto. That way you will avoid a $20 bridge toll on any of the bridges. - MFinCAExplorer

I live very close to the Dumbarton Bridge. I have crossed both bridges while towing many, many times and either is fine. If you are going to Palo Alto, IMHO the Dumbarton bridge will drop you closer to Palo Alto--your ultimate destination.
Have to go to Palo Alto in July...Will be coming west on I-80 to the 880 and need to cross the bay on either the San Mateo-Hayward bridge or the Dumbarton bridge to the 101....
Any best choice here?? I will be in a 40' MH pulling a Jeep..... - JTExplorerAs 'MFinCA' said, the Dumbarton is the best choice, but try to avoid major commute hours; coming west, that would be between 5-10 a.m. (more or less!)
