Mar Rosa was pretty burried in sand 2 days ago. Thye are working on it however. They told me this will be th elast seson for them.

Thanks for the info. We have been looking at http://www.virtualmex.com so I think we can figure it out.

We will have to figure out and decide where to fill up. We have a pretty reasonable capacity (90 USG, 340 Liters)but of course range varies with terrain and speed and never like to run too low!

Has anyone done (recently) Torreon to Durango and know how long it takes?

Saltillo -- via Torreon and Durango to Maz:

Is Saltillo to Durango doable (reasonably) in one day. Fuel?
Ditto for Torreon (Lerdo) to Mazatlan? Again, Fuel?

Don't like to do much more than 7 hours driving, both the dog and I need a rest stop or two! Though we usually do PV to Maz in a day, same for Maz to San Carlos.

How available is fuel on those Cuotas?

Also having trouble finding any current information about any hurricane damage to those routes.

Brian sue is almost correct. If you choose to exit the Cuota you do it before the toll booth. To re-enter the Cuota there is a ramp from the Libre just before the Toll booth.
We stay on the Cuota. Just after paying your toll keep to the right you will see the military post and a restaurant parking area.
Back in as close to the military post as possible and treat the troops to a coldie. They will watch over you.
If you choose to stay in the Libre lot stay near the Pemex. A local informed us that sometimes "things" happen on the fringe of that lot.
Chris is probably correct that the Libre is in better condition than the Cuota up to the Baluarte Bridge. Sad but this "new" road has taken a beating in the few years it has been open.

We will pass though there mid Nov.

I found the toll booth at 25.52055° -103.63973° on Google Earth - I then did the Street View on Google Earth and "drove" the street into and out of the Pemex - only problem being it appears we may have to pay another toll when getting back on the cuota - but I am not sure about that. The route into the Pemex from the toll is a hard right so being in the right land toll booth is probably important. My computer mapping Streets & Trips says it is about 185 miles from Saltillo to the toll booth and then about 135 miles from the toll to Durango - but have not done it so cannot tell you drive time.

Thanks Chris and Gil. Looking at the map and zooming in it looks like that road take you into a libre. How do you get back on to the cuota to Durango. What is the approximate driving time from Saltillo and to Durango?

This is a Pemex station where we have stopped at many times both coming and going to the West coast. Google the coordinates and you will get a large map. We always enjoy the animals that are in the little zoo near the Pemex.
