Snow at high elevations eastern BC and western Alberta

Sitting at the daughters house just west of Calgary today and we looked out the window and saw snow mixed in with the rain. I looked at Hwy cams and ski hill Web cams and found snow at Sunshine village and above Banff.

SNOW,

Weather man says it will be gone later today with sunny skys returning tomorrow, so all,you people in and around Banff / Lake Louise should be able to see snow capped peaks in the Canadain Rockies hopefully.

  • Yup clear skies and I can see the Rockies and they Re all, covered in snow. For all you people traveling in and around Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper you will have a beautiful drive today. The hwy cams show low cloud, but here west of Calgary the sky's are blue and the Rockies are white.
    Drive safe
    Soup.
  • You pretty much can have your choice of tent sites at the National Parks...
  • We travel to Alberta every other year from June until the first part of September. We know we're pushing it by leaving in September because winter is coming and this snow just proves the point. Now it's coming earlier. Oh what to do, what to do????? :) :)
  • We live at 9100 feet and didn't get any snow, or if we did it happened at night and was gone by the time we got up. However, there were reports of some of the passes getting a dusting and Pike's Peak got a dusting.
  • In the "high country" (above 5000 ft) I've seen it snow every month of the year.
    It just happens.
But in June/July/August it melts within hours.
  • Reading the Denver news and Rocky Mountain National Park got a dusting of snow and Denver set a record low a few days ago. Winter??????
  • Buddy of my son Inlaw works with just got in from Jasper and it is sticking to the road
  • We are at 4400 feet ASL and it is snowing here (45 miles NW of Calgary) as I post.
