Going to Apache Junction AZ from Kingman. Coming down US-93 I have two options, take US-93/AZ-74/I-17/101/202 or US-93/303/I-10/202 and traveling on a Saturday, which one?

Even on a Saturday....if you don't like traffic....as early in the day as you can do it, will be best.
If you have not traveled the 101 or the 202 recently, it's the new Indy 500. Many driving 80,90,100mph. Remain very alert.

I agree with Option 1. Have done that trip many times, and it is a lot easier to avoid the downtown mixmaster. SR74 is just fine.

As a resident of Phoenix for 37 years, I would choose option 1. Option 2 would take you through the heart of town on I-10 as everyone is running around town doing their Saturday errands.

All the times I have been through that area, either way is OK, BUT I always go very early in the AM ,, 3:30 -5:30 . No traffic .
Have a safe trip.
