We drove down from NE Indiana to Ft. Lauderdale this past November, passing through Cincinnati on I-75. Rather than pass through Atlanta, we elected to take I-40 East at Knoxville to I-26 East at Asheville, connecting to I-95 South close to Charleston. According to Mapquest, this route was 20 minutes longer, but much more scenic and avoids Atlanta. The bad news is the stretch of I-95 between Jupiter and Miami, but you'd hit some of that anyway if you followed I-75 all the way. Something to consider...
