WiFi available, Canada

WiFi availability at Canadian campgounds is as varied as it is in the US. Some have it throughout the facility and some only have it at the office area only. You'll have to check with the individual campgrounds specifically.

Can't comment on the Verizon question.

If you have problems with the campground WiFi take a little trip to the nearest Walmart. I don't know about Quebec but the Walmarts in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia all have very fast Wifi with a strong signal that reaches far out in the lot.

I am Canadian and will have the same dilemma when I travel to AZ next Feb.....I have cellular internet here in Canada, which I can take in the camper. Roaming to the US will cost too much. Am going to ask my provider (Rogers) if they have something for me without having to remortgage the house

Contact Verizon and add the Canada plan for the time you are up there. Cost is $15 per month

there is free wifi available at most Tim Hortons donut stores and most MacDonalds as well. lots of locations to update daily.
We used the free wifi at Dunkin Donuts when we were in Vermont last month.

Moved to RVing in Canada for more input.

Wifi is everywhere...Timmy Hos', MickieDees, many food stores. I might suggest getting a USB type plug in antenna. Boosts the available signals and allows you to access the wifi from your rv.

Poncho..and any other CDN's heading south. I bought a T-Mobile phone and card at Wal-Mart this past spring. $50.00 a month for unlimited International talk and text. The coverage was spotty, but I still had it when I decided I needed it to call home.

I am more of a free wifi fan, but we had renovations going on and I needed to be reachable easily.

We have a Verizon mifi device and we were quoted $30 for the Canada add on. It wasn't for much data. I put it away and used Tim Horton's/McDonald's, as others have suggested, if the Campgrounds WiFi didn't work well.

We were at Camping Transit (near Quebec City) in July. There was a ?2/?3 daily fee for internet.

adding Canada for $15 a month is for voice ONLY, no data. Data costs $2 per megabyte. People have gotten caught with huge bills.nyou need to shut off data roaming when you are close to the border and shut off data altogether when you are in Canada.
