- John___ChristinExplorerSounds fantastic. Thanks for the great info!!!!
- richy2ExplorerWe recently stayed at a harvest host in South Dakota. The winery was not too far off our planned route and we had a pleasant afternoon and quiet evening. We also stayed at a harvest host in a tourist town about 100 miles from our home. I found that when planning a trip, many HH locations are not convenient to major highways. If you don't mind diverting from your route, harvest hosts are a great and interesting alternative to a campground.
- chuckbearExplorerWe have used it many, many times all over the U.S. and Canada Every time has been a great experience and the membership fee has paid for itself over and over. It is true though, you can wind up spending more than a campsite for products sold by the host. Lots of these products we would not have found otherwise. Purchasing is strictly voluntary. well worth it. Chuck
- John___ChristinExplorerGood info...thanks!
- GottahaveitModeratorWe have friends here that joined and they use it all the time. Granted we live in the wine country and it is a great little getaway for them.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIHere is one RVer's experience with Harvest Host. They love wine so it worked well for them. They have a 40' motorhome.
Even though it's free parking (& I believe some now charge a small fee) I would fee obligated to purchase at least a bottle of wine.

We stayed at a couple of places and found it convenient. Most hosts will do same day requests. Just be aware that if you park overnight at a vineyard, you may spend more for wine than you ever would consider spending on a campsite :) - mkcExplorerHarvest Hosts just sold to a new owner last month. It will be interesting to see if there are any changes. The new owner is looking to increase membership from the current 8300 to 20-30,000 within the next year and has cranked up the marketing, doubling the pace of new membership signups. That's a lot of new folks hoping for the same spaces.
- TrackrigExplorer IIUsed it once for two nights at a small winery in northern Washington, very pleasant experience.
Bill - 2oldmanExplorer IIThese posts have harvest and hosts in them.
