Try KOA Woodside. Stay out back in the grass area. No water views, but better services, hookups and price. Cell phone service sucks anywhere on the island except on top of Mount Caddilac. Hadleys -- soso.
X4 on Hadley's point. Prices are reasonable, the sites are nice, it is clean and quiet. No waterfront sites or waterfront views but you can go down to the point about 1/4 walk. We usually go every year and stay there. it is quite nice
Bar Harbor KOA X3. You get what you pay for. Water views and direct access for kayaking etc.. Live music on Friday nights and lots of free activities for kids.
Bar Harbor Campground is much more affordable and very nice. But not waterfront.
Narrows Too. Besides the Lobster Pound right across the street, the grocery Store a mile down the road, and the Maine Lumberjack Show about a 15 min drive further, it was enjoyable, with great views. Here's a Linky
We had a waterfront site there for a week in July a few years ago. Easily the most beautiful campsite we've ever stayed on. Over $100/nt with no sewer, but worth every penny IMO.....

No question that the KOA is pricey, but we give ourselves a treat every year and stay here at a waterfront site for the fantastic view of Western Bay, Blue Hill, and the incredible sunsets. The staff is helpful, and all the neighbors we've had have been friendly but not intrusive.
