Bugs

This park located in the middle of the RGV (Rio Grande Valley) of Texas is seeing a big increase in the number of renters from Quebec, Canada. They are willing to drive the extra miles compared to their previous destinations in Florida. Five arrived this week already.

The reason, they say, is to get away from the mosquitoes, no seeums, and other bugs in the Sunshine State. I suspect it has as much or more to do with our low rent and good weather. Anyone else see this trend?
  • Not from Quebec, but from the north-east and we will be wintering in Texas beginning next winter and has nothing to do with bugs. We were attracted by the outgoing, friendly locals and a substantially lower cost of living.
  • We have always had quite a lot of people from Quebec in the Western Valley. They tend to move around to find the best deal.
