Dropping my son off at college, Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. I see 2 campgrounds nearby. Paradise Lake and Blue Ridge KOA. Iโ€™d prefer to use my fifth wheel as opposed to a hotel but donโ€™t want any drama. I have a 40โ€™ fifth wheel and havenโ€™t been to either CG. I want easy in and out with plenty of room. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Not a fan of KOA. You cannot get a straight answer from the website on prices.

The other is much more accessible to Lynchburg per google map.

The KOAs along I-81 in VA are all pretty good and all should have spaces for a 40+ footer. Just make sure you choose a big rig site when making your on-line reservation. Many fill up early... make reservations early.

Congrads on Liberty. I guess. It certainly has a unique admissions policy. Now one of the largest schools in the country (+100,000 students) with nearly open admissions.

We stayed at the Blue Ridge KOA. Nice Campground. we came from the west and the roads are not RV friendly. one of the roads that was supposed to take me to the KOA was listed as no longer than 30ft. my GPS kept showing it as the only route. i didnt know the area or the roads. i called the campground and hte lady had no idea as she was a work camper from the south. so i drove all the way around the north and came in from the east. turns out after i got there had i gone north from where i was another 20 miles i wouldve came in a way easier way. always keep a paper map with you.

but as ive come to find out, roads and highways in the eastrn states are not big rig friendly and were designed before semi trucks!

with all that i would stay at the KOA again. its a short drive to the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

You will have no problems at the KOA. Well kept and very clean.

My daughter went to Sweet Briar near Lynchburg and I stayed at a KOA in my, at that time, 45ft Monaco. Don't remember any drama but its been awhile, In fact she was just there for 25th reunion. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Did you call them?

Use google satellite view (or similar) and street view and you can get a pretty good idea of what to expect. I always use it for any new area I go to to get a picture in my head beforehand.
