We are currently at the Campus Park & Ride mentioned a couple of times in previous posts. We have been here on and off for the last year and have had no problems. Sure, it is adjacent to a couple of rough areas but the property, itself, is surrounded by high fences and barbed wire and has a gated entry.
Also, since the property is a retired trucking terminal, there is warehouse space accessible from the other side of the property. The new tenants of that space is Customs and Boarder Patrol and, quite frankly, they have added enough cameras (to the entire property) and electric fences to make it appear (from the front of the property) more secure than Fort Knox. By the appearance, someone would have to be crazy to pick this property to target for nefarious purposes.
So come enjoy lots of concrete (read: level parking)! Ten minutes to the airport, UPenn campus and hospitals, fifteen minutes to City Center! The shuttle buses that run 24-7 (to the UPenn hospitals) will also get you to the buss and subway lines.
There are a couple of downsides... only a few spaces have sewer connections but there is a functional dump station. Second, there is a train yard behind the property. Someone who likes an occasional train horn blow will love it... light or easily irritated sleepers, not so much.
This is the best actual desciption I have read. Is there any chance you can take pictures? I have a wheelchair lift on my class a that sticks out about 6' right behind front passenger tire. Will I have enough room? Tks.
