Great tips...do you think it'll be warm enough for an overnighter in early april?
In SE Idaho the weather in early April can be anything from warm and dry to cold windy and with snow. Some of the largest snow falls in the past have been in early April.
I looked at the long range and the prediction is 50's day and 30's night 6-12 of April 2014. There is a saying only fools predict long range weather in SE Idaho.
Last year on the 18th of April 2013 it got down to 13 overnight. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWe enjoy Massacre Rocks State Park and there's also a casino at Fort Hall that has a campground.

- dmcgiffinExplorerFor a great free city owned campground right on the Snake River try South Tourist Park. http://www.campingroadtrip.com/campgrounds/campground/campground/24009/idaho/south-tourist-park
Free dump station and water - restrooms. Grassy areas and right next door is a drive-in theater that you can see, just can't hear :) - sealevel_ramExplorer

If looking for an over-nighter with electric, water, dump on site, nice shower and bathrooms, try North Bingham County Park in Shelly, ID. just south of Idaho Falls. About 2 miles off I-15 on the Snake River all sites are pull-thru. Exit 108.
Second this recommendation.
We were traveling through and decided to overnight here. Such a nice place we decided to spend another night and relax. - bobsallyhExplorer IIIf looking for an over-nighter with electric, water, dump on site, nice shower and bathrooms, try North Bingham County Park in Shelly, ID. just south of Idaho Falls. - Not_a_ClueExplorerCowboy RV park is great for an overnight, they have pull thru sites up front and there are gas stations at the same exit. Follow the directions on their website and not your GPS. Your GPS will have to going in the wrong direction when you get off the freeway. Very well maintained park.
- 2hamsExplorerThe Pocatello KOA is one of the worst places we ever stayed.
- kknowltonExplorer IIAlthough it gets worse reviews, the Pocatello KOA is under new management/new ownership. Its advantage over Cowboy is, IMO, the view - Cowboy is right by the interstate & the cemetery (noisy on one side, quiet on the other :) ) and is, as previously noted, a MHP, though not as seedy as many of those can be. View is ok - mostly of the cemetery across the street. The KOA is up in the hills a bit & near a residential area (and another MHP, which is next to but not part of the KOA). If you go for the KOA, I'd recommend the EW sites rather than FHU - they're a little wider, and not as crowded as the FHU section.
