Camping in and around Fort Myres Florida

Hello,

We are looking for an affordable RV Park in and around Fort Myres Florida for the winter months. Any Ideas?

Thanks Carol Lambert

  • We stayed at Seminole CG in North Fort Myers last winter. It's not too cheap at $900 a month, but it's a very nice park.
  • I live in Ft.Myers/Cape Coral. You also need to be aware of parks in less than desirable areas - there are many. There are some great parks in North Ft. Myers in the Rt 41 corridor. The drive to the beaches is relative as once you get near San Carlos Blvd, it is an hour just from that point most days.

NFM is close to downtown without being right in it, and the access to all major roads and the interstate cannot be beat.

Southern Ft. Myers/Lee county is a traffic Clusterf%$*k.

    Happy camping.
  • Ft Myers and affordable do not go together in the winter. The place we stay is $500.00 in Nov and $1350.00 in Feb. You cannot be close to the beach if you want affordable.
  • You need to define "affordable" for your situation, then start looking. Prices go down the further you get from the beaches and the big cities.

Whisper Creek in LaBelle is reasonably priced, has lots of activities & quite a few Canadians - but it's about 40 miles from Ft. Myers.
  • Here's one place to start researching: http://rvparkreviews.com/

You could also check with your fellow Quebecers. Thousands of them make the trip to FL every winter and you might feel better in a park with many of your neighbors.
  • I think that you need to give more information. How close to Ft Myers do you need to be? What kind and length of RV do you have, what kind of activities are you looking for, how close to the beach, do you require FHUs?

There is state park in Estero, which is 15 miles away, Koreshan, which has a highly reviewed campground at $26.00 a night, but it is only electric and water, no sewer, only can accomodate up to 40 foot, and doesn't have much in the way of activities or amenities.

Be careful with "cheap" or "affordable" because really, in that area, you wont get much.
