Looking for opinions and experiences from fellow campers who have stayed in flagstaff. We have never been in Az. and are thinking about going this spring. Not sure if there are enough activities to keep us interested for 10 days. Our second choice for vacation in Pigeon Forge. Opinions please! Any input will help with our decision making!
Thanks!!!!!!

We always stay at Greer's Pine Shadow. Its a simple camp ground with lots of pine trees.

I believe there is a campground at Mund's Park south of Flag, but I can recommend the forest service campground at Sunset Crater. There also is a decent campground at the fairgrounds on the south side of town, but no hookups. Check out rvparkreviews.com

X2 Also, Pinegrove, about 20 miles southeast of Flagstaff is a gorgeous CG. Dead Horse Ranch SP in Cottonwood (18 miles southwest of Sedona), is a great place to stay and launch day trips from. :C

Here are some links for attractions in the Flagstaff and Sedona area: Sunset Crater National Monument, Wupatki National Monument, Walnut Canyon National Monument, Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well National Monuments, Tuzigoot National Monument, Palatki and Honaki Ruins, V-Bar-V Heritage Site, Cathedral Rock, Verde Canyon Railroad, the town of Jerome, the town of Sedona, and Schnebly Hill Road.
Safe travels!

RFCN2 speaks with knowledge and gives good advice. I, personally, am not crazy about the Flag RV parks, but the area, as described, has a lot to offer!

The quick answer is yes!!! Are you kidding. Here are a few in the general area in no particular order.

1. Grand Canyon. Should be on every American's bucket list. Stupendous.
2. Flagstaff is a great moderate size town with a nice old section.
3. Sedona - short drive away that is a gorgeous area. Stop at Oak Creek. Take a hike through the red hills and cliffs.
4. Meteor Crater
5. Petrified forest NP
6. Painted Desert NP
7. Many native American ruins and places to visit. Wupatki, Motezuma Castle.
8. Jerome
9. Prescott

And many many more. Take the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon. And so on.
