CGs South of Atlanta

We will be visiting relatives that live in Peachtree City south of Atlanta. Looking for a nice CG with at least 30amp electric, could get by without water/sewer hook ups for a few days.

We looked in Woodalls and Trailerlife CG directories didn't really find anything we liked. Any suggestions?

Pine Mountain RV Park(as noted earlier), Roosevelt State Park, and especially the spectacular COE Campgrounds on West Point Lake are all great camping spots. They comprise part of the Callaway Gardens resort/ Warm Springs/LaGrange/Columbus leisure and recreational venues. Fantastic area to spend a few days. This area is about 50-60 minutes SW of ATL Airport off 85. So much to do and see in each of these stops in this area.

Only about 85 miles away from PTC...lol

But thanks for pointing it out. We are heading that to Destin in April and looking at a stop over somewhere between LeGrange and Montgomery.

This RV park is a good hour+ from Peachtree City. If you want to go that far, I'd suggest FDR State Park. Most of the park was built by the CCC and they have a small museum on-site that is very interesting. Warm Springs is about 20 mins north of FDR and has FDRs Little White House and the therapeutic pools.

If you Google RV parks in Ga. That may help.

there is nothing close. Your options are:
1. Chattahoochee Bend State park in Newnan. (A brand new park by the way)
2. A mobile home park in Palmetto so bad I will not even name it.

Consider Chattahoochee Bend State Park, west of Newnan. It's about 30 miles from Peachtree City. It's a relatively new SP and I have not been there yet. But it's on the Chattahoochee River and they have 40-ft pull-through sites available. You can reserve for your length, but you cannot reserve a particular site.

Honestly, there is just not much along that I-85 corridor, except at West Point Lake, which is probably going to be too far for you. It's right close to the Alabama line. Indian Springs SP and High Falls SP are off of I-75, so it's a good hour or more from Peachtree City.

Not sure how far you would want to drive. South on I85 there is a COE park, West Point lake. LaGrange GA about 50 miles from Peachtree.
