- reubenrayExplorerWhere can I find a campground map of Archusa?
- katfishExplorerIf u get on hwy 69 out of Tuscaloosa u can come to Foscue Park in Demopolis Al. Full hook ups and COE park. There are a couple of exits off the interstate to get to Demopolis.....
Good luck... - reubenrayExplorerThis stop will be mainly an overnight stay. We are at the Tiffin Service Center (CRB) in North Alabama and this area would be a good spot to stop half way back home. On the trip up to CRB we stayed at Benchmark RV in Meridian, but the water was off and there was no walking area at all. So we are looking for another option for the trip back home. Hopefully these two parks will have their water on. If we like it we may stay another night. We are not into touristy things, but love walking and being with nature.
My motorhome is 12'10" tall, so I am concerned about low limbs. - msredneck84Explorer

Has anyone been to this State Park?
I live in Quitman and of course can tell You all about Clarkco State Park.
It is located in Clarke County MS, hence the name Clarkco. Situated about 5 miles north of Quitman and about 20 miles south of Meridian one can find lots to do and see in this area.
Clarkco Park is an old CCC project so it has lots of history but, I must say proudly that it has been maintained nicely and updated during the years. As is most state parks it is dated, I suppose, by todays standards. But we love it. Huge pines and very shady gives it more of a closed feel. It is a beautiful park with a nice big lake.
If you want to get close to nature and just relax and really camp, this is the place.
Archusa (name derived from Choctaw Indian language) Water Park is located inside the City limits of Quitman, making it very unique.
It is a much newer and more modern park than Clarkco.
Come on down and spend some time with us at either of our parks. I just know you will enjoy yourselves. Ya'll come back here!!! - MCDDYExplorerWe drove thru it 1 time and had a hard time just going thru it, narrow road with low hanging trees. Just down the road to the east of Quitman is Archusa Creek Water Park. Really nice park, part of the Pat Harrison waterways District which also has Flint Creek and Little Black Creek which you might be familiar with, closer to your house. Only thing there isn't anything to do in or nearby Quitman except a few good Catfish houses but they're most anywhere you go in So. Miss.
Dave - reubenrayExplorerThanks for the info. I will check into Archusa. I did read one review on Clarkco where the new sites are bigger and better.
- katfishExplorerTalked to my sister, she said the sites are very dated, small pads an unleveled .
She said the other park in Quitman was a lot better I think she said Archusa??? They have improved this one some.
Good luck.. - katfishExplorerI will check with my sister they stayed there, I think they said the sites were very small an lots of trees.....
