Cottonwood CG in Teddy Roosevelt NP South Unit

We are actually staying outside the national park at Medora Campground because the entry road to Cottonwood looked too twisty for the DW liking. and it's a good thing we did. We took the toad into the park to do the scenic loop and found that they are rebuilding the fist 5 miles of the entry road and it's one way traffic from the entrance in Medora most of the way to Cottonwood. You need to wait at the entrance for a pilot car to lead you through the construction zone.

Judging from the current state of destruction, I would expect this project to last into the 2019 camping season.

TRNP worth the trip, but definitely call ahead.

  • We stayed at the same campground in Medora last night! We saw the construction and decided not to go into the park. Left this morning and staying in Ashby, MN tonight.
