I have read rv park reviews on this state park was wondering if anybody has stayed here. If so what are your thoughts on the park and the surrounding area. We take our little dog with us and enjoying hiking and scenic beauty. Also like a little space between sites. Eletric and water hookups are fine with us, full hookups better. Thanks for any help.

Yes, we stayed there overnight last September. I recall it as a very nice park although it was for us only an overnight on a longer trip. We stayed in site 17 which had plenty of room. There was also good space and trails for walking our dog.On that particular site we had to borrow a 50 amp extension cable, but the camp host was prepared for that and had the cable handy at his site.I wish we could have stayed longer and recommend it.

I wonder why the name DAVID verses DAVY... Must already be a "Folk Hero" DAVY CROCKETT State Park in the area...

There are two different state parks in Tenn one is David Crockett and the other is Davy Crockett BP I'm asking about David Crockett state park. One is where he lived and the other where he was born according to the Tenn website

I stayed Site 105 in Campground 2 at David Crockett State Park for 3 days in April, 2016. Electric & Water, good AT&T & Verizon coverage. There is a museum that was not open, and a restaurant that was.They have an unusual dump station at Campground 2 - if you are in it, you block the entrance to the campground.

We stayed at David Crockett SP in March. We found it a very nice park: well-maintained and with pleasant staff and hosts.

Thanks for the replies we have booked September 30 thru October 4 site 17 on the creek. Looking forward to it seeing some different state parks in different state

We go there fairly often. Good hiking trails and not all are listed on the park map for some reason. Always do the Amish country drive and buy some things. Campground hosts can probably give you directions.

Last time we stayed there, we liked it. Don't especially remember anything about the restrooms, the condition usually depends a lot on who is doing the maintenence, so it varies. Just remember that it is a state park, with begrudged funds, not a public resort with lots of money and attractions.

+My son just stayed there and he was very disappointed. The rest rooms were not kept up and he said he would not go back even though it is close to where he lives. Also said it was not for big rigs.
