Daytona Speedway questions...

Hello all,

My first post so please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post these questions. I will be taking my first RV trip ever in January. We will be heading up to Daytona Speedway for Rolex 24 Hour race.

I have a spot in Lake LLoyd RV area and had a few questions.

1) I have never been inside this Lake Lloyd area but from other times that I have been to Rolex 24 I have seen folks with fire pits at their spots. Are you allowed to dig a fire pit in Lake Llloyd spots?

2) It says the area is controlled and only can be accessed by those that have an RV spot in there. What do we have to show to the security when we are going in and out of the area? We will all have 4 Day Wristbands but those bands don't say anything about having an RV spot?

3) Do you have to get there on the Thursday in order to get to your spot or can you arrive on Friday? If possible is there any advantage to getting there Thursday VS Friday?

4) What is the Boardwalk Club? Says we will have access to that but the info on the website is very vague.

These are probably silly questions but I have tried calling the track a couple times and it's full busy signal every time.

Any other tips for a first timer to Rolex 24 and/or RV in general is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!

Sam, I was calling the main number. The day I was calling was the first day they opened ticket sales for Rolex 24. I was unable to get through.

I also had called on June 8 which was the first day for early/ticket upgrades and spent about 1hour calling over and over with constant busy signal/impossible to get through.

And on those kinds of days, you expected.......what exactly ??

They (nor anybody else) can handle 5000 calls all at the same time.

And while I don't know for sure, I'd bet a ticket to next year's 500 that they don't allow you to dig holes......anywhere on the property.

Have you tried to call them back again "after the rush" and ask your questions ?? Do try to be reasonable.

You'll show them your wrist band that they provide to you. As far as the fire pit, I'm not sure about that

Thanks very much for the replies. Very much appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

Regarding the fire pits. If I understand correctly my spot by Lake Lloyd is 20'x55' with 20x40 being paved. Guessing I can do a fire pit in the unpaved 15'x20' section???? Anyone know this for sure?

Also, I understand that we will have stickers on the vehicles to get in and out but what I'm wondering is what do we show when walking around to the security at the Lake LLoyd area? On the website it says that Lake Lloyd area has security even for foot traffic.

You can get there anytime. They will send you sticker for your rv and also a sticker for your car. If you are in the premium spot it's all pavement so no digging fire pits. The boardwalk club is accessible with your wristband. You can go in and out of the infield anytime. They have guard shacks at both tunnels that are manned 24hours a day

What phone number are you calling ? I have NEVER had a problem getting through.

If....Lake Loyd is inside the track, then I'm pretty sure that fires must be in rings above ground.

They will send you a windshield sticker for the RV and one tow vehicle along with your tickets. This is assuming you have a dedicated space assigned, in which case the only advantage to arriving early is it might be easier to park the RV.

This from several years experience at the NASCAR races but my spot is outside turn 1.

Do call them. In my experience they are very helpful.
They are open only during "regular business" hours though.
