Do any other States besides Washington State, provide Free camping in their State Parks?

Washington also provides Camping at 1/2 price for those with Handicap
Parking Permits. Because of my Co-pilot we enjoy this Perk!

Our Camping Buds get the Free Space due to his Hearing Loss from a Service Connected disability.

From my experience with www.recreation.gov, checking out online offers an option of checking either Access Pass or Senior Pass, then just enter your pass number. Poof! Instant 50% off camping. I use mine as often as possible.

National Parks passes are free for disabled vets, and the annual pass is free for active duty military I believe.

http://store.usgs.gov/pass/access.html

Everyone else is $80 a year, still a bargain, but from what I have seen, there is a lot of confusion at some state and federal parks as to what the pass covers. Most say the annual pass does not cover camping, but, may cover boat launch, one host told us, it does not cover boat ramp, but does cover camping, but, not place to enter it when you reserve your site. Might work for walk ups at some places we camp.

In CA a Distinguished Veterans Pass allows for free state park entrance and free camping worth $45-$60 per night. Apply on line and I believe it is available for a rating of 50 percent or more. Send in documentation and the pass shows up in the mail. I make reservations on line and the pass number is recognized so all costs are shown as $0.

Oregon's benefit can be found at http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=v.page&id=19

I have enjoyed the benefit for years and they automatically extend the placard date. 5 days in a row or 10 days in a one month period is really great for my annual trips from Southern California.

Oregon will issue a disabled vet special access pass placard good for 10 days of free camping each year for a 30% or more disability. No charge but you must prove disability and you don't have be be an Oregonian. The first one was good for 10 years but new one for 5 I think.

Oregon provides free camping for disabled veterans. My pass states "Honoring Oregon's Disabled Vetrans," however, I am from Oklahoma and there was no problem in issuing the pass to me when I requested it.

Oklahoma offers 1/2 price camping for disabled Oklahoma veterans. Many of the benefits only apply to citizens of the state that issues or provides the benefit.

Illinois state parks offer free camping to Illinois veterans with a 100% disability as determined by the USVA and the IDVA.

The camping is free but you still have to pay for hookups if any.

Not aware of simply free, but with a disability many offer significant discounts.

100% Service-connected Vet here ... 1/2 off camping with Access pass (National/Federal), and free admissions for myself and up to 4 guest to major attractions.

http://store.usgs.gov/pass/access.html

Access Pass is free with documentation of permanent disability, no percentage, merely permanent.

I try to look for Federal parks and recreation areas specifically for this reason. Army Corps of Engineers managed waterways and recreation areas have been some of my favorites.

www.recreation.gov

http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/visitors.cfm

Also, I know NM is very generous too (for its residents, anyway) with discounts and free admissions to state recreation areas for disabled vets.

I think most of those benefits are limited to residents of a particular state.
