Favorite Places to Spend the Summer

Question

I'm looking for cool places in the West to escape the sizzling Palm Springs, CA summer weather from mid-May to mid-October. We've spent these 5 months traveling around before, but are now thinking we would like to find 3 or 4 stops where we could spend 1 to 2 months each.

Requirements are RV resorts between 6000 and 8000 feet, with good amenities and activities, and reasonably priced golf (under $60 with cart) nearby.

For example, Show Low, AZ at 6300 feet, fits our needs with it's Venture In RV resort, Silver Creek Golf Club, and Bison Golf Club.

So do any of you out there stay at other places (in the West) that are similar?

Have no idea and have never researched your question - but what about Bend OR? Great place, nice in the summer and winter.

any of the camp grounds in Puget Sound. // they are all below 6000 foot elevation.Or Highway 20 west to eastern cascade rage.

To clarify, I am not just looking for cities or general areas, but for great RV resorts with reasonably priced golf nearby and moderate summer temps. So if you have a favorite resort that might be what I am looking for, please respond.
