- 1stgenfarmboyExplorerW.O.W. I don't think they would let me park my truck in that CG.
- Two_JayhawksExplorerTwo Rivers Landing was one of the most beautiful parks we've seen. We were there for a week last fall before the fires.
- BracesExplorerTry the No. Carolina side as suggested in another reply. 81 degree high today in the Waynesville-Maggie Valley area. Close to Cataloochee area of the park but about 30-40 minute trip to Cherokee and 1 1/2 hrs to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge.. Only 30 minutes to Ashville. Creekwood Farms CG near Waynesville is nice.. In the GSNP, Smokemont near Cherokee is nice but no hook-ups.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this for the smokies along with Cataloochee, and Black Mountain CG at the base of Mt Mitchell is where we go to be "cool"
we try to stay between 4500ft and 5500ft if possible through the hot parts of the day. - fil564ExplorerAnchor Down is a great place!!
- FloridaReLoadedExplorerDepends on what late summer is, I like Treemont Outdoor resort located in Townsend but its hotter over on the Tennessee side. After years of going up there we bought a cabin on the N.C. side, not only is it cooler but much less traffic. Traffic over on TN can be miserable to say the least
- magnusfideExplorer IIIf I told you I'd have to ... :B

- kerrlakeRooExplorerTry Boone NC. to "cool off" you have to gain elevation, Boone sits at about 4000 ft. There are numerous campgrounds around the town
