Fishing Bridge rv park

I know this location has been discussed in the past but i just have a couple more questions for those who have been there.

Is it really as bad as some reviews make it out to be? I understand sites are close together but are there other horrible things about it as well?

Many complaints state that you are only allowed 2 showers a day in the showerhouse. Am I missing something here? Is showering in your own rv with full hookups not allowed for some strange reason?

Booked it for a week next July, wondering what to expect (or not to)
Thanks!

I didn't find it tight at all. Plenty of room side to side and quite a bit of space between us and the rig behind us on the next loop. Will return!

Mosquitoes? They're seasonal just like RVers. ๐Ÿ™‚

You haven't seen mosquitoes if you haven't stayed in the UP of Michigan!!

The must have reworked the sites then. When we were there we were about 3 feet from the unit parked next to us and neither of us had slides. We could hear everything that went on in that unit.

But again it's just a parking place for your RV while you look at the park.

We were there last September 2014 - if you look at google earth it is a full campground and of the few cars in the park all are parked next to their RV

I know for a fact updates where done in 2010 as I had a reservation canceled as they closed for major repairs including electrical

For general information Verizon had been updated at the end of last summer and we had excellent phone and data in the campground

I did call to make reservations instead of doing so online as I had specific requests. I was told the same for our 30' tt and our friends 30' fw, you park next to your rv. Hoping this will give us a little "elbow room" as we both have slides.

My biggest complaint (which I've not seen anyone mention in any of the FB threads) was the mosquito population. BE sure to take mosquito spray with DEET in it if you plan on grilling, eating dinner outside, or having your morning coffee outside of your RV. Taking the dogs out was a chore.

Yes, I've read this as well! We have had an extremely rainy summer(if you can call it that) here in the Chicago area and the mosquitoes will carry you away. I guess I'll feel right at home ๐Ÿ˜‰

The sites are small and the parking lot of a cg is nothing special. We showered, ate dinner, and slept there.. with so much the park has to offer we felt like we were wasting time being there. Have a great time!

when I was there the showers were some of the strongest I have ever seen. don't remember how we got admittance but I do remember that they charged non $$ campers to use them.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies! I feel much better now!

Really looking forward to this trip, we will be incorporating it with the Cheyenne Frontier Days, YIPEE!

Yes it's tight. But were were rarely in the RV during the day. The whole point is to be out and exploring the park. Obviously you can take all the showers that you want inside your own RV, they don't have a water meter on your hose after all.

I believe you are given tokens to use at the shower house. If you want more tokens you'd need to purchase them.

As for taking showers in your RV - have at it!! Water is not limited.

There are no issues at the campground. I've seen 'tighter' campgrounds than this, for sure. The main thing to remember is that this is a wild area and it's home to wildlife. Keep your campsite clean. The rangers make regular cruises through - for a reason.

Have fun!!

Sure it is tight, but you're there to visit the Park, not the RV site.

I thought it was okay for what it was. Used my own shower, too.
