FISHING IN MINNESOTA
Looking for a place in the lakes area of Minnesota to spend a couple months fishing this next summer. Any ideas?

Itasca State Park is outstanding. If you like, nearby is Long Lake Park in Shevlin. 10mph speed limit and stocked full of trout. In Detroit Lakes we have a few options. River Hills has direct access to Detroit Lake, a very good walleye fisherie. Country Campground is probably less expensive, but is very clean and has 6 lakes within 2 miles of the campground. Another campground I would suggest is Lake Carlos State Campground near Alexandria. Very clean and you can get spots right up front by the waters edge and park your boat.
