We've spent 4th of July on the West side out there... can't say I enjoyed it thoroughly as it was quite hot and our AC died that year.
Enjoy the Green River Lakes area (assuming that's what you mean by Green River north of Pinedale). We will be there around Labor Day. If you haven't been before, be aware that the road out to the established campground on the lake is pretty dang rough. We boondock by the river "closer in" and just ride our side by side to the Lake to avoid some of it. That might be what you're doing anyway.
If you need somewhere to eat/have a beer, Kendall Valley Lodge right before you get to the NF parking area has a restaurant and small bar. You can also buy licenses there for fishing.
