- TucsonJimExplorer IIYes, we stay there frequently. It is a beautiful park that is very well maintained and professionally run. The price is high, but you are right in the middle of the tourist mecca, and there is a huge demand.
You are only a few blocks from the west entrance to Yellowstone which makes it very convenient to visit the park every day. You are also within walking distance of several attractions, restaurants and shops.
When in West Yellowstone, Grizzly is our preferred park. Make your reservations early in order to assure you have a spot.
Jim - LaurenExplorerTucsonJim is exactly right. We have stayed there for 9 days as I recall; about 3 years ago. Great park but not cheap. But none of them in are area are inexpensive. If we went to Yellowstone again that is where we would stay - just save up for it! :-)
- kedanieExplorer IIGrizzly is a very nice park. It is expensive and it is outside of Yellowstone. Some will say it's just blocks from the entrance, but it is still a long drive to the main attractions in and out everyday there. We use it to overnight before moving into Yellowstone.
Depending on your needs, there are many campgrounds inside Yellowstone. Most are reservable. The only one with full hook ups is Fishing Bridge.
Days in Yellowstone are long as the park is huge and most time in the campground will be spent sleeping and preparing for the next day. Camping inside will also give you more access to ranger programs, evening campfire talks and for the most part, less driving in and out everyday.
Keith - leesanExplorerWe stayed there 2 years ago and loved the campground. Very well kept and they will go the extra mile to accomodate your needs . You need to make reservations ASAP because it fills out quickly. The town of West Yellowstone is a few minutes away from the campground so you will have plenty of things to do.
- brireneExplorerI'll agree with everyone else. Convenient to west gate, also convenient to West Yellowstone and attractions there.
- Campfire_TimeExplorerAgreed. We've stayed there twice. Excellent RV park, great customer service, squeaky clean, and walking distance to everything in town was a plus. Highly rated on RV Park Reviews.
- nma33ExplorerStaying within Yellowstone isn't an option for us, We are 38' long and I might be towing our car, not sure yet, might just rent when I get there. I spoke with Grizzly RV and since our trip is in July of 2017 I can make the reservation in October. Thanks for all the feedback, It is greatly appreciated to hear it from those that have been there!
- kedanieExplorer IIFishing Bridge can handle rigs up to 40ft with a space to park the tow vehicle along side. You probably can reserve now for 2017. Full hookups, inside the park and costs less than staying in West Yellowstone and all their tourist traps.
Just sayin,
Keith - Jim_ShoeExplorerI've stayed at Grizzly a few times. Two blocks to the west gate and 14 miles to the Grand Loop. But you're IN Yellowstone for those 14 miles. On the way to the loop one spring morning, I watched a herd of Bison taking their own sweet time crossing the road, a pair of Bald Eagles feeding their chicks, a fox feeding her kits, and a male Elk grazing along the road while a stupid human walked up behind him to take a picture. I also saw a young lady complaining to a ranger because she tried to drive through that bison herd and wound up with a severely dented door. Bison have very thick skulls and very small brains. Its wise to remember that you're in their home and they make the rules.
- Dick_BExplorerX2 on Grizzly. Right next door are wolf and grizzly sanctuaries. You can hid food under the rocks and the grizzlies will find it pronto.
