Gros Ventre, Grand Teton NP repaving

We are currently at Gros Ventre and loops D, C and B are closed for repaving. If you turn left after the campground office, the only sights available are off the main road and loop A. Loops to the right of the office are at least for now uneffected.

We got here yesterday, Monday, and it did not fill, but no electric sights, and not many that could handle big rigs. They are grading loop D now and once paved it will reopen as they move to work on C. They are hoping to reopen D in 2-3 weeks. The good news is the new sites will be level, and in some cases made longer.

We'll be there the third week in June. Hopefully it's all done by then. Do you think we'll be able to get a spot that time of the year? We have a truck camper so we don't need a long site.

You'll definitely get a site! We always got one with our 40' motorhome - no reservations.

  • Two of our kids live/lived in Wyoming, and they told us this:

"There are two seasons in Wyoming: Winter and Road Repair."

We were just up in Laramie last weekend at UWYO's graduation and they were just beginning the Road Repair season.
  • glad to hear they are updating a bit. the roads were in really bad shape last year, and the camp sites do need to be lengthened. We love Gros Ventre but it does need some work.
