Gulf states and hurricanes?

We are planning our trip next year for AL, MS LA and TX. This would be for June/July along the coast. I do believe those months are during the hurricane season. Has anyone had any issues going during that time? I know I can always watch the weather and plan accordingly. Just wondering if I am thinking too much into it or not.
Thanks!

we go camping during hurricane season all the time. Camped through a Tropical storm one time. Its not like we get hit by a hurricane all the time. Most years we don't get anything.

Yes, Louisiana roads are horrible at best. I great state to NOT have to drive thru on either the Interstates or side roads either. Good luck!

Waay over thinking. Like don't visit IL anytime March to September. Tornado season.

When was the last time anyone saw a hurricane in June or July anyway?

That's why I`m asking. and a tornados damage path is maybe a 1/4 mile wide and cant be seen a week in advance. a hurricane....a bit more and far more damaging and longer lasting, not to mention you can watch it coming and get out before it happens. which was my comment to my wife, but she wanted input from people that know the area.

Just one comment on LA roads, if you think their interstates are bad wait until you get on their secondary roads...heh.

Looking at some places in
Gulf Shores AL
Gulfport MS
New Orleans LA
And Galveston TX
Nothing in particular just want to do a lot of Gulf front sites. We like touristy things as well as other simpler things to do.

I think I found some places to stay, just havenโ€™t nailed it down yet!

Yep no problem with the heat. Camped many times in 100+ degree weather!.......on the Gulf it's a wet heat! LOL
Belive it or not in 16 years of RV'ing, we haven't been straight south yet through IL and into the southern states! Looking forward to it.

I survived every hurricane to hit the Texas coast since 1950. Yeah you're overthinking it.
But watch the weather forecasts. Do not wait until a storm is on the coast near you to evacuate.
And yes, are you sure you're ready for the heat?

Ok thanks everyone! I should say itโ€™s not me worrying itโ€™s the DW! I told her that we can watch and see whatโ€™s happening and change plans it take off when we need to. I think Iโ€™m going to start planning that trip then.

Hurricane's won't be a problem, usually, then, but you will run into some very hot humid weather.

The one good thing about hurricanes is you know when they are coming and you have plenty of time to get the heck out of dodge
