We are looking for a campground around there that’s on a river or creek for the kids to play in. We found one in the forest park but it’s first come first serve. How do people handle those? Do you drive 7 hrs to get there and find no sites Available? What do you do after that.
Also looking in Ouchita too if there is something around a river too.

X2. They have a nice swim beach and last time we were there (5 yrs) they had pontoon boat and I think kayak or canoe rentals. From what I can remember, the sites were decently sized and the bath house was pretty clean
Courage is the feeling you have right before you fully understand the situation
We stayed at Gulpha Gorge Campground and had no issues getting a site. Time of day, day of the week and the season will of course have different results. Kids have a great creek to play in and the campground is nice. All sites are about equal in convenience. If you plan your arrival time is the key.
