- CalisdadExplorerI haven't seen an answer to your question anywhere but a word of caution- If you travel off the beaten path carry a chainsaw and some rope. The beetle killed trees are coming down in a big way. You might find a way in only to have a tree block your exit. Most of the FS roads near me are impassable. I even saw a mobil home yesterday that was hit by 3 separate trees.
I believe Yosemite Lakes CG on Harden Flat Rd is open and there are always a few boondocking spots on Harden Flat Rd. Being a county road it would be maintained. We are due for 3" of rain this week which means 3' in Yosemite. - profdant139Explorer IICalisdad, we carry a bow saw, chains, ropes, and pulleys. We have had to use tools to clear the way, a couple of times.
But I would not boondock near Yosemite right now -- the ground is too soft after all of this rain and snow. And lots more on the way, all the way through next weekend!
