AMEN to that! - kknowltonExplorer IINot sure how close to Boise you need to be, but Mountain Home RV Park is really nice.

Yes, that route is all good but so boring. But if you go that route you can tell everyone you have been to Rome. Much nicer countryside after you leave Nevada...
Years ago Jordan Valley was a very well known speed trap...
Know the speed trap well, went through there following the speed limit and was stopped. Was home just visiting so couldn't make the court date and had to mail in the fine. Later it was determined that they had a racket going on and were busted for it. - ramyankeeExplorerYes, that route is all good but so boring. Anyone ever been to the Big Loop Rodeo at Jordan Valley?
Ever fished the local reservoir.
Seen the buffalo herd.
Floated the Owhyee River. - ReneeGExplorerAgree on the highway from Winnemucca to Boise. Just past Jordan Valley you'll drive over the Owyhee's, a range of hills more than mountains, but you will gain elevation. Don't take the slight rise for granted as even with a car, it can get away from you on the way down.
As for where to stay. Ambassador in Caldwell is a resort style RV park. KOA in Meridian is crowded and tight. In Boise, on the river is Boise Riverside RV Park. In Caldwell again is a fairly new place, Canyon Springs RV Resort. Mountain View in Boise is right on the interstate and close, but lots of trees. For a one night stay passing through any of these are good and if staying a few days, pick a location closest to the reasons you are staying longer. - Y-GuyModeratorI agree with pfidahospud. I caught 95 to Winnemucca at Hwy 78, I can't see it being much different between 78 and Boise.
What type of RV park/campground are you looking for? Resort are are you looking to camp in the woods?
The Ambassador RV Resort is very nice, but its flat, concrete with a pool.
South of Mountain Home you have Three Island Crossing State park which is pretty nice. - Meridian KOA is nice, but like all KOA's, expensive.
