We stayed at Hillman's a number of years ago...very nice campground.

I'd like to suggest that you go to www.lbl.org to find out all about Land Between the Lakes and sights, etc. This site has lots of info and a really good map.

I would definitely say a trip up to Grand Rivers to visit Patti's 1880s Settlement...not only for the restaurant, but the beautiful adjoining area--like a park with lots of flowers, statues, etc.

You can find out about Homeplace, the Planetarium, and the Bison drive (we didn't even see a cow when we took the drive--found out later that you should go very early in the day).

I think you will like the campground and area!

I don't know how busy it will be in April but we went there camping last summer and it was packed.. Make reservations for Paddy's and get the pork chop it's awesome. We went to the locks on both lakes and that's pretty interesting to watch but it takes some time. Bring your camera as the Buffalo come right up to what ever you drive in there and they don't move out of the road any time to fast LOL .. We live in Lexington, KY and that's a bit of a drive for us but we're planning on going back soon

Its a pretty good trip over to Nashville. Lot closer to Paducah, for what that's worth. I am not familiar with Paducah, but someone might give you some pointers for there. Be sure to to Paddy's up at Grand Rivers, and some tourist places there to see. Go down to the Visitor Center, and be sure to do the Elk and Buffalo range. There is a lot bigger buffalo farm further down toward the southern part of LBL. Another site, the Homestead is a interesting stop.
Further out, you can go see Superman at Metropolis. Considering the weather so far this year, might be a good idea to plan for some cool to cold evenings.
