- wbwoodExplorerKings Mountain isn't far from us. WE will need to make a weekend of it sometime.
- alnal326ExplorerWe went in August and I don't remember the mosquitos being any worse than normal at that time of year. We stayed in either site 30 or 33 it was a pull through and across from the bathroom and there was another bathroom real close to it too. It took a little to get it leveled but would not hesitate to stay here again if we have another opportunity to go back to the area. You need to check out Kings Mountain National Park while in the area too. After visiting that park we had to make a trip to Yorktown.

Have you checked RV park reviews? There is one listed for Kings Mountain and years ago we stayed at Kings Mountain State Park, that would be listed on RV park reviews under Blacksburg, South Carolina. I liked the state park and the price was cheap but it is only electric/water. Our site faced out away from everybody and we had a view down the hill. We did have to put some blocks under to get leveled but of what I remembered if we're ever back in the area we would stay here again.
We are thinking about going later this year - probably towards the end of summer. What time of year did you go? Was it humid, buggy, etc? - NC_ParamedicExplorerHounds Gate is awful close to railroad tracks (across the road) might get loud at times.

There you go.
Is that the newer place?
Although I have not stayed at hounds gateway, I have watched the construction and additions over the last two years. Hope to try it out one weekend soon. - wbwoodExplorer

I guess there are no campgrounds in Kings Mountain,nc
You only gave it about 4 hours for folks to respond. Most don't get online until nightfall.
Do a search at Woodalls. They have an excellent rating system and description of the facilities of cgs in the area. We always search Woodalls first and then narrow it down. We then look up the few we've winnowed on Trip Advisor
